China Airlines - Gold Coast Half Marathon Activation
Background
The Gold Coast Half Marathon is one of Australia’s most iconic mass-participation sporting events, attracting thousands of runners, supporters and spectatorsm many of whom are active, travel-minded and socially engaged.
For China Airlines, the event presented an opportunity to connect with a health-focused, experience-driven audience in a positive, high-energy environment, while reinforcing the brand’s role as a gateway between Australia and Asia. Rather than traditional advertising, the activation aimed to create shareable moments, cultural pride and brand warmth at a celebration of movement and community.
Solution
The activation was designed to turn China Airlines into a high-impact, participatory landmark within the Gold Coast Half Marathon.
A large inflatable aircraft created instant visibility and memorability, while the interactive photo frame invited runners and supporters to step into the brand story.
By aligning with a moment of energy, achievement and celebration, the design encouraged organic engagement and social sharing, associating China Airlines with positive experiences, cultural connection and movement.
